I read this story ages ago and couldn't think of the title until I tried to remember the opening line. It is a brilliant and poetic book.
I also loved the opening of "Boofheads"

ReplyDeleteThat was the blurb on the back of the book too. It made me read it. It's about a new migrant family moving to Queensland in the early 1970's It's like a darker version of "Looking for Alabrandi"
